USS Essex

MHM conducts yearly assessments of the USS Essex Wreck, a National Register Property in Lake Superior in Duluth. Access and download MHM's USS Essex reports on the Project Reports Page and see which USS Essex Log Books MHM has edited and transcribed on the Log Books Page.

USS Essex Project Reports

USS Essex - 

The USS Essex was launched in 1876 and burned on Minnesota Point in Duluth in 1931. USS Essex is the only example of the craftsmanship of North America's celebrated shipbuilder Donald McKay known to survive. MHM advocates the preservation of this National Register of Historic Places Property.
